富士川駅にて 315系電車 315 Series Train at Fujikawa Station

211系電車との置き換えが始まった315系。
The 315 series EMU has begun replacing the aging 211 series trains on the JR Tōkaidō Main Line in the Shizuoka area.
After stepping away from railfan photography for several years, I realized I had completely forgotten how to check train operation schedules. So, during about one hour in the late afternoon (16:00–17:00), I decided to casually observe how often the new 315 series would appear—without any timetable information, relying purely on on-site observation.
Results:
• 315 series + 313 series: 1 train
• 313 series: 2 trains
• 211 series + 313 series: 1 train
• 211 series + 211 series: 1 train
• 211 series + 313 series (Home Liner color): 2 trains
During this one-hour period, only a single 315 series train appeared, heading outbound around 16:00. As a relatively new commuter train on the Tōkaidō Main Line, its operating frequency is still limited. Surprisingly, the 211 series was seen more often than expected.
While the 211 series is still in service, I hope to photograph it once more—ideally with Mount Fuji in the background, or together with its successor, the 315 series. This short photography session was simply part of my trip home, but pointing my camera at trains again after so many years brought back fond memories and reminded me how enjoyable railway photography can be.
